Been a while since I've posted a blog...

Read THIS blog post by a teacher. I mean actually read it. Take it in. Think about it. And then, write about it. What do you think about it? What is the teacher trying to say? In your own words explain what "the main event" is.

The teacher is trying to say that the learning and the academics of school are not the true reason that school prepares you for real life, sure they are important, but they aren't the true focus of school. The real reason you come to school is to learn the social skills, the problem solving, and get the education that will truly help you out later in life. Here you learn not to give up, how to deal with other people, and manage your work all at the same time. This teacher also believes that no matter what, you should never give up. In this world, there are no places for quitters

3 day weekend... how was it? Give me a good story or something funny that happened this weekend. Go.

The weekend was great, Since I technically got a four-day weekend due to the all-day tennis tournament on Friday that Blue Valley swept, receiving four gold medals for all four of the brackets. So after that strong start my family and I headed down to the lake of the Ozarks to relax for a day or two, whilst there we played cards and watched some movies. Once we returned I got a day off to sit around and be lazy while everyone else worked to keep the world spinning.

Reflect on your resume website.

After seeing the rest of my class's blogs there are a few things that I would change about my own resume. For one I would've liked to have had pictures on my website, however once creating what I did I realized that pictures wouldn't suit what I had created. They just wouldn't fit with the grand scheme that I had going. So if there was one thing that I would change about my website, it would probably be that.

What's the coolest thing you've learned in Web Design so far? Why is it so cool and how can it help you in the future?

The coolest thing that I have learned this year is how to style html on css to make it look decent. This can help out in the future because if I ever have to make a website I will be able to use  css to make it much better.

Define 'User Experience'. What does it mean and how does it relate to web design? Explain yourself.

User experience is the feelings and reactions people have when using a product or service. As a website designer it should be a goal to create the best possible user experience for your website visitors. You want to leave a lasting impression on people so that they remember your website and things about it.

What is a resume website? What do people put on resume websites. Spend about 5-10 minutes looking up resume websites and what they are used for. Explain what you find. Include an image of a resume website if possible.

A resume website is a website that displays people accomplishments and what they are doing along with information and skills that they have. They use these websites to display their skills and accomplishments in a more elaborate way than the usual paper resumes. You can add color and your own unique style to a website which is a lot harder to do on a regular old resume.

What are you doing for Spring Break?

Over Spring Break I plan on relaxing at the lake of the Ozarks with my family. Maybe at some point we'll play some tennis together to pass the time. I also will be taking drivers ed for part of the break.

If you were the Principal for a week at BVHS, what would that look like? What changes would you make? Why?

I would make school start a couple hours later and end earlier but be year round, I would also make sure that the lunches were better and the classes more exciting.

I think the courses I am currently enrolled in are the absolute best classes I could possibly take in order to prepare me for the life I want to live. Why? because I don't know what life I want to live and by taking theses classes and experimenting with different subjects I'm finding out what I want to do and how I want to do it.

Color can convey a lot of emotion when it comes to designing anything from a product to a website to an advertisement to a logo and so much more. What do you think the importance of colors on a website are? What is a color scheme and why is it important to have when designing? Explain any thoughts you might have around color in design.

Colors are often associated with feelings, emotions, or memories in peoples minds so when they see something that is a certain color it will automatically be associated with whatever that color represents to them whether the actual advertisement or website has anything to do with it at all. Having the right colors on a website can make or break a viewers interest just based on the color itself. I really hate red and reddish colors, they are associated with anger and hatred and they give me a headache if i stare at them too long.

Think about the quote. What does this mean to you? How could this apply to your life? How could this apply to your school work (especially Web Design!)? I would love to give you less work in class if it meant you were going to focus harder on the work. Do you think you would get more out of it? Would that work for you? Why or why not?


This quote means that if you focus and take the time to slow down and work then you will create amazing things. When I read this I cant help but think of the old saying quality over quantity which means that you can mass produce crap but if you want to make something good you'll have to slow down and put some focus and effort into it. The problem now is that if there were less work students still wouldn't focus because in today's world there are too many distractions and it is very hard to keep on task. This might work for me, its hard to tell I am the kind of person who procrastinates so I think I would get distracted too easily.

I was sick all week end and am still slightly sick and recovering so my weekend consisted of lying in bed and sleeping.

10 years from now I will be alive and well hopefully with a job and some sort of shelter. From there endless amounts of possibilities will be present and hopefully I can find something to do.
